Sun Glint
Sun Glint creates directional light streaks radiating from bright points. Use it for cinematic lens flares and stylized highlights.
Where to Find It
- Open the TrueSKY panel -> Effects.
- In Layer Stack, click + and choose Sun Glint.
- Select the layer to edit its settings.
Panel Layout
- Opacity: Master blend for the layer.
- Core: Strength, saturation, and tint of the glint.
- Streaks: Count, angle, size, and quality of streaks.
- Highlights: Threshold controls for glint sources.
Controls
Core
- Opacity: Blends the effect with the original image.
- Strength: Overall intensity of the glint.
- Saturation: Color richness of streaks.
- Tint: Global color overlay.
Streaks
- Count: Number of radial streaks.
- Angle: Rotation of the streak pattern.
- Color Modulation: Varies hue along the streak length.
- Falloff: How quickly streaks fade toward edges.
- Size: Length of streaks.
- Quality: Iterations (higher is smoother but slower).
- Blur: Softness of streak edges.
Highlights
- Glint Threshold: Brightness cutoff for glint sources.
- Glint Threshold Multiplier: Scale for the threshold.
- Smoothness: Feather the cutoff edge.
Tips / Workflows
Typical Use
Start with Count = 6 and moderate Strength, then rotate Angle to balance composition. Keep Color Modulation subtle and raise Blur for filmic softness.
