Lens Dirt
Lens Dirt simulates smudges, water spots, scratches, and grime on a camera lens. These imperfections catch light from bright sources, adding realism or grunge.
Where to Find It
- Open the TrueSKY panel -> Effects.
- In Layer Stack, click + and choose Lens Dirt.
- Select the layer to edit its settings.
Panel Layout
- Opacity: Master blend for the layer.
- Mask Controls: Shape and strength of the dirt pattern.
- Distortion: Warping and dispersion options.
- Water Spots: Droplet density and exposure.
- Scratches: Scratch density and exposure.
- Grime: Smudge density and exposure.

Mask Controls
- Opacity: Blends the effect with the original image.
- Mask Size: Scale of the dirt pattern.
- Mask Threshold: Brightness required to reveal dirt.
- Mask Noise: Randomness and variation in the mask.
- Mask Strength: Intensity of visible dirt.
- Mask Defocus: Blur applied to the dirt mask.
Distortion
- Amount: Distortion intensity.
- Fit: Aspect correction toggle.
- Dispersion: Chromatic-like spread in dirt highlights.
Water Spots
- Amount: Density of water droplet imperfections.
- Exposure: Brightness and visibility of water spots.
Scratches
- Amount: Density of scratch marks.
- Exposure: Brightness and visibility of scratches.
Grime
- Amount: Density of general smudges.
- Exposure: Brightness and visibility of grime.
Tips / Workflows
Typical Use
Balance Mask Threshold so dirt appears only near bright hits. Use Water Spots for rain or moisture, light Scratches for age, and Grime for overall patina.
