Grain
Grain adds film texture for a vintage, filmic, or organic feel. It helps break up smooth gradients and adds character.
Where to Find It
- Open the TrueSKY panel -> Effects.
- Scroll to Global Effects and open Grain.
- Use the Enable toggle in the panel header to turn it on or off.
Panel Layout
- Mode Buttons: Monochrome or Color.
- Opacity: Blend amount.
- Factor: Intensity of the grain texture.
- Animated: Per-frame randomization.
- Size: Grain scale.
Controls
Modes
- Monochrome: Black and white grain (classic film).
- Color: RGB grain (vintage color film or video noise).
Settings
- Opacity: Blends the effect with the original image.
- Factor: Intensity of grain texture.
- Animated: Toggles per-frame randomization (static vs moving grain).
- Size: Scale of grain particles (larger = coarser, smaller = finer).
Tips / Workflows
Typical Use
Keep Factor low for subtle filmic break-up. Use Monochrome for a classic look, and enable Animated only for motion renders.
